Our tours are small-group tours with up to 7-10 people.

The tour starting time is stated below the tour calendar.

The meeting point of your tour is written in the tour’s page of each tour. At the same time, detailed information regarding your booking’s meeting point will be stated in your confirmation email and the reminding email we send one day before the tour date. Please plan ahead and make sure to be there on time.

After booking, the confirmation email with your name, booking date, time and meeting place will be sent to your email address. If you haven’t received it yet, please contact us at our contact form

If a date cannot be selected, a tour is fully booked. If you don’t have another option, please contact us at our contact form . We’ll check availability right away and get back to you.

If the date is still open on the website, please book online. If the date is closed, please contact us at our contact form . We’ll check availability and get back to you.

Solo travellers are all very welcomed to join our tours! We have lots of solo travelers on our tours!

If you can proceed to booking on the website, please do so. If you cannot book it due to unavailability, please inquiry us at our contact form. We will get back to you shortly.

It depends on the tour. Please click “book now” button to see if there is any price options for kids. You can find the age limit information in the remarks of all our tour pages.

You don’t need to print out anything to join the tour. Basically you only need to inform the guide about your name. But to avoid any trouble, please take a screenshot of your confirmation email with detailed information of your tour name, tour dates and etc. and show to your guide if necessary.

In some tours yes we can offer a pickup\dropoff service
but if the tour is considered a public transportation you can ask for a pickup/dropoff service and guest will afford it

All the Washoku club guides are screened before we select them as a Washoku Club guides. After this, we require each tour guide to undergo a training program so that they understand their role and responsibilities. As well, fluent English language skills, experience in a international atmosphere and local knowledge about Japan/Japanese culture is required. While the tour guide is responsible for the actual tour development, we provide templates so that no details are forgotten. However, the best way to know about our guides of course, is to read the ratings and uncensored comments by customers who have taken the guide’s tours, posted on the relevant guide page. We hope you’ll try out tour guides who don’t yet have any ratings (and then rate them yourself). They have an unique story tell – otherwise they wouldn’t be part of the Washoku Club team.

You must be over 18 to book and confirm a tour.

Yes, it might possible to change the tour time and place. We do our best to make adjustments but understand it is not 100% always possible. Please tell us at least one week before your tour.  If you have booked a PRIVATE TOUR, adjustments are more flexible but changes can only be made with sufficient advanced notice.

Changes to tours and the spots we visit may occur due to schedules of restaurants, public holidays, weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances. Applicable substitutions will be made in this case.

Yes, all of our administration and tour guides can speak English. We are adding other languages to our offerings as we grow and expand the business.

Yes, you can make a booking for one guest, but please call or email us as we use a different system for single/ solo travel bookings.

We accept most major credit cards. You can also pay through PayPal.  Please email us if you have any questions or difficulty.

We are sorry but we do not have free Wi-Fi available for the tours.

Yes, we have vegetarian menu options available for most (but not all) of our tours; please tell us in advance so we can make the proper arrangements.

Yes, people who have allergies may join the tours; however please keep in mind that we cannot make a 100% allergy free food guarantee since all the food is prepared in the same kitchen.  Cross-contamination/ Cross-contact is possible. Most restaurants in Japan are unfamiliar and unable to make provisions for serious cross-contact allergies.

Unfortunately No most of our tours are not a wheelchair accessible but some time we can accommodate our tours to fit someone needs

Yes, we are more than happy to share more intimate food experiences with our guests. You can choose the private tour option on the cart to make a standard tour private. We can also tailor the tours to your preferences as well.  Please contact us to discuss in more detail.

We are offering tours in Japanese also

We usually send an email with your tour pictures and a link to our review page on the following day of your tour date.

Payment & Cancellations

Unfortunately, we don’t accept cash payment. Please pay by either paypal or credit card on our website. If you have a trouble checking out on our site, please inquiry us at our contact form We’ll help you right away!

As is written in our cancellation policy, you can get a full refund if you cancelled your booking 24 hours before the tour starting time. You will also have a refund if we are not able to provide the tour after you have booked it for some inavoidable reason or cancellation due to inclement weather.

You can pay securely using credit cards, debit cards, or Paypal.

The payment probably didn’t go through and your tour wasn’t booked. Please go back to the booking page and try again. If you’ve seen that the payment has gone through, maybe the email address was incorrect. In this case, please contact us in our contact form and we’ll solve it as soon as possible.

If you have a problem using your coupon, please, follow this steps: 1. Please, doble check that the coupon code is the correct one 2. Make sure that that coupon can be use for that product 3. If you have followed all the previous steps but you coudln’t find a solution, please, contact us to our contact form and explain us your situation.

As is written in our cancellation policy, if you cancel at least 24 hours before the tour’s starting time, the cancellation will be free. However, if you cancel within or after the tour’s starting time, we will not be able to provide a refund.

Night Foodie Tour

All ages are welcomed to join this tour.

We have Vegetarian option in this tour. But we don’t have a completed menu of gluten free. We recommend you that you will book our Vegan tour of Modern Vegan Night Foodie Tour in Tokyo instead. For this tour, we can arrange gluten free menu for you.

Yes, we have vegan/vegetarian options in this tour. Please put that in your booking comments so that our guide can be well-prepared for it. We have Washoku Club original menus and ask our customers to choose the meal from them. In most of cases, we have 4 to 6 different meals in the menu and our customers will choose 1 or 2 meals from there. Please note that your choices may be limited as some meal is not vegan/vegetarian options.

Walking Tours

Most of our walking tours last for 2.5-3 hours. You can find the duration information from each tour page for any specific tour.

All the walking tours are including some food in the price. Our experienced local guides will recommend you the best food to try during the tour and buy it for you. Please, carefully check the tour information in our website in order to make sure what exactly is included in your tour. Of course, additional drinks and food can be purchase at any moment.

Trouble

If you are on your way to the meeting point but you are going to be late, please inform us before the tour gets started about your situation so that we can inform the guide about your circumstances and try our best to help. Please note that you will not be able to join the tour, get refund or rescheduled if you are late for the tour and missed the group.

Please make sure you are in the right place as instructed in our email. Contact us by sending a message on our contact form as soon as possible.

Usually, it takes a few minutes to be delivered. If you did not receive your confirmation email around 30 minutes after booking, please follow these steps: 1. Check if it went to your spam box. 2. If step 1 does not help, please contact us at our contact form as soon as possible, giving us your name, tour name and the date you booked.

Don’t worry if you have made a mistake by booking the wrong date. Now, you can change your tour date by yourself by following these steps: 1. Open the confirmation email that have been sent to your email after booking 2. Open the email and scroll down, looking for the link to reschedule your booking 3. Click the link and a new window to reschedule your booking will open 4. In this new page, you can check the available dates and time slots of your tour. You will be able to make any changes, but always take into account our availability. 5. If you are not able to make the changes by yourself or you have any question about it, don’t hesitate to contact us at our contact form.

Usually, the pictures that have been taken in your tour will be send the next morning-evening after your tour. If after two days you still did not receive an email with the pictures, please, follow the next steps: 1. Kindly, check the spam folder of your email 2. Contact us to our contact form with your name and tour’s date and we will check the issue.

We usually send an email with your tour pictures and a link to our review page in the following day of your tour date.

If your booking request is accepted, you will receive a confirmation email with your tour information. In the email, you will see the description of the meeting point, and some remarks regarding the tour.

Usually, it takes a few minutes. If you did not receive your confirmation email around 30 minutes after booking, please follow these steps: 1. Check if it went to your spam box. 2. If step 1 does not help, please contact us at our contact form as soon as possible, giving us your name, tour name and the date you booked.

We will send you an email with more detailed meeting information and your guide’s name one day before your tour date around 19:00, so please refer to that to come to the meeting point. Please note that you may miss the tour if you are late for the tour, so please plan ahead to make sure you can arrive on time.

You can reschedule your booking up to 24 hours before the tour starting time (depending on availability). To reschedule your booking by yourself, please check the confirmation email that was sent after you booked. There you will find a link to reschedule your booking. If you have any problems rescheduling on our website, please feel free to contact us at our contact form any time.

For a full refund, please cancel 24 hours in advance of the tour starting time. You can find the cancel request link in your confirmation email and cancel by yourself.

To book a tour, please go to our website (https://www.wahokuclubtours.com/), select a city where you want to do a tour, and starting browsing our tours in that city. You can find all necessary information on our tour page. To check the availability of the tour, please find the calendar on the right side of the page (for mobile users, you can find the calendar by clicking “book now” or find it in button of the page) and after selecting a date, click the button “book now”. After that, you will be prompted to review your order and enter your payment information. You can either pay via credit card or with PayPal.

Click a tour and check the available dates on the calendar. The available days are white and clickable. The unavailable days are grey. Click “Book Now” and choose the number of participants. If the number of participants exceeds the available seats, you are not able to book instantly. Click the button “Submit a request”, we will check the situation and get back to you within 24 hours by email (Don’t worry about the payment, You only pay when we can confirm your reservation)

Our calendar just shows the dates from today to 15 month ahead. So you will need to wait until the date is displayed in our calendar.

The greyed out dates on calendar are no longer available for the following reasons: 1. The dates have been already fully booked 2. No guides are available on that date 3. We don’t provide this tour on that day of the week

Tour Guide

Tipping is entirely at your discretion. The guide won’t feel offended and most of them will appreciate it, but some of them might reject the tip.

You can find our guide tour schedules below the calendar on the tour page. If you click a date, you can see which guide is assigned on the date. Usually we show the guides monthly schedules at the end of the current month (around 25th).

We cannot provide the guides personal information. If you have problems, please contact us (available Mon-Fri 10:30-19:30 JST except Japanese national holidays) or email us at our contact form.

Your guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point, holding an Red board that says ‘Washoku  Club”

You don’t need to pay for the guide’s food and drinks.
